Every New Beginning is Difficult...
The Scherer family history began in 1976 when Maria and Konrad Scherer, parents of today's junior director Gerhard, built the ConnyAlm in the Golzentipp ski resort.
Their daughter Cornelia was born in 1979 and her younger brother Gerhard followed in 1984.
From 1995 to 1997 it was converted to the new ConnyAlm panorama restaurant.
In their constant effort to make each guest's visit to the ConnyAlm as unforgettable as possible, a new sun terrace was added in 2009 and most recently a natural kids' playground was created with fountains, a large sand box, hay play hut and more.
Cornelia has also run the "Flying Hirsch" umbrella bar at the Himbeergoll ski lift since 2004. Cornelia attended the school of hotel management in Innsbruck and gained work experience abroad.
Gerhard completed studies at the commercial college in Lienz and then finished culinary training at the Hotel Weiler in Obertilliach. After his compulsory Austrian military service ended, he started working with his parents. In 2006 he met his partner Sabine. Sabine completed studies at the higher federal institute (HBLA) in Lienz and then went on to study at the Tourismuskolleg school of tourism in Innsbruck. Their son Arian was born in 2010.
The family's shared dream has come true step by step. Ground was broken in the construction of the Almfamilyhotel Scherer in September 2014.
