The Almfamilyhotel Scherer
in Tyrol

The 4 star superior family hotel at an altitude of 1450 metres

The Almfamilyhotel Scherer lies on a sunny plateau between mountain pastures and is one of the first houses you see when entering the village of Obertilliach in East Tyrol. During all seasons, guests can enjoy the stunning view of the Carnic Alps, a mountain range of the Gailtal. All suites and terraces face south. The interior of the hotel presents itself as a tasteful fusion between modern elegance, natural elements and regional traditions. Family-friendliness is at the centre of everything. The village and its surrounding area can be comfortably explored on foot, in winter the ski slopes run straight past the hotel. That makes the Almfamilyhotel Scherer an ideal starting point for summer hikes and winter skiing.

“Where the playground needs no fences”

Looking at the hotel with its sturdy wooden poles from the outside, brings to mind pictures of the “Heuharpfen” - wooden racks that were once used to dry fresh hay. The suites are situated in different wings that are connected to the main building. The latter also houses the reception, the restaurant and the spa area. Outside you will find terraces to relax on, a petting zoo and a well thought-out playground. The hotel interior and the suites feature natural materials like wood, felt and hay that have been tastefully integrated into the décor and furnishings. Lovingly arranged accessories tell stories about the long history of the region. The entire interior is suitable for children.
