A summer holiday in East Tyrol
A summer retreat between the Lienz Dolomites and Carnic Alps
Carefree holidays with children
The Almfamilyhotel Scherer’s location is predestined to go outside and go for a walk with the little ones. Here on the Golzentipp you will find the Gailtal Ridgeway with its broad sometimes even paved walking trails - perfect for taking a walk with a pushchair. If you’d rather enjoy something a bit more challenging, why not take the Carnic Ridgeway which takes you from Obertilliach to the border between South Tyrol and Italy. During your hike you will sometimes come across remnants from the dark days of World War I. Even families skilled at mountaineering will find athletically challenging via ferratas in the region of Obertilliach.
Some wonderful family hikes which are also suitable for active children invite you to discover the mountain world. With the aid of the cable cars you can go up the local mountain, the Golzentipp, quickly and comfortably. You take the Golzentippbahn from Obertilliach and from the top station, matt green alpine meadows lie before you. Along easy paths, passing the picturesque Jochsee, you reach the summit (2,317 m). A few play stations along the way will make the hike worthwhile also for reluctant hikers. Another popular hike leads up the Steinrastl summit (2,184). On mainly shady forest paths you hike up to the summit.
Additional summer activities in the valley of Hochpustertal include:
- mountain biking in the valley, up the the Porzehรผtte hut or to the mountain pastures of the ConnyAlm
- the โOstirodlerโ summer toboggan run in Lienz
- the via ferrata โMillnatzenklammโ in the valley of Lesachtal
